  1. FIM (Templates Menu, Options...)
  2. FIM is an acronym which stands for Face Identification Marking.  FIM is bar code used by the United States Postal Service to speed sorting.

  4. There are four types of FIM, A through D.  CoStar App prints FIM A.  FIM A indicates that the envelope has been pre-barcoded but requires postage.

  6. When the cancelling machine at the post office reads FIM A, instead of routing the envelope to the OCR reader, it is sent to the BCS (Bar Code Sorter).

  8. The FIM setting becomes availabe under the Templates Options dialog when Postal Bar Code is selected for an envelope.

  10. FIM appears two inches from the right edge of an envelope and is not available to you when printing labels.
